Almost 2 weeks since the last update. Been a busy and dynamic couple weeks filled with family, paperwork, training, and work. (10/25/2023)
So everything eventually settled on a trip to Wisconsin. Took a few days until the plane was ready for CONUS work after an overseas rotation. During the wait I renewed some overseas ID stuff at Marine Corps Base Quantico. The ID office there was amazing. Never been to Quantico and wish I had the chance to run around a bit but what little I saw was cool. A whole town on the base there. Stopped and had dinner before heading back to the hotel. Nothing like waiting for hotel laundy to finish.
Finally had the chance to fly the King Air from the left seat for the first time. Automation and thorough maintenance makes everything less work intensive and less stressful. Was pretty relaxing flying out to Wisconsin with 1050HP under each wing. Good landing to end the flight. Flying the Navajos beforehand has helped a lot I realize. Second pic is after landing in Wisconsin. (10/21/2023)
Weather was/is a huge issue in the project areas. Have been getting some instrument time searching for open skies but no survey work completed. Learned how to do mission planning and enjoyed time outside work with the crew. We have been doing some preparation for future projects inside the hangar. Turns out we're sharing space with some boats and ducks! (10/25/2023)
Headed back East on the 27th. Couple days to rest then off to Europe!
