Little break between posts. Had a few days off and enjoyed the downtime (08/11/2024)
Ended the last trip with an overnight "stand up" (08/05/2024). First time working with an inoperative APU. It got HOT. There's no air conditioning in the plane once the external air is disconnected and you need to get the engines started ASAP to provide air flow. Naturally we were delayed after the external air was disconnected and we tried to push back from the gate. Was drenched in sweat by the time air started moving again. Picture of a tug during a walkaround that night:
Flight back the next morning we barely beat a huge storm that developed over the destination airport. There was a ground stop by the time we parked at the gate so we couldn't get the plane unloaded for a bit.
Commuting to work (08/10/2024). End up sitting in the front a lot when the cabin seats are full. Good chance to socialize with other pilots. Picture looking out from the jump seat:
Starting my trip (08/11/2024). Always impressed how complicated and large jet bridges are:
Getting in and out of the jet bridges on the other hand always requires a little work due to security measures:
End of day at the hotel. Try to take the stairs when I can:
Decorations at a local restaurant. Live music was actually pretty good this time around. Sunday brunch crowd was in full swing.
Neat little draw bridge next to the hotel I think:
Couple of funny signs:
Between the stand up last week and the flying today I logged around 5.2 more hours for a total of 1,201. Forgot to mention that sometime last week I also crossed 100 CRJ hours! Exciting stuff.
